Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the Centre for Information Technology and Development has taken a step advocating for a chance to allow youth and women participation into party leadership and contesting for political offices.
The Senior program Officer, CITAD, Isah Garba pointed out while on an advocacy visit to the party leadership of Kano Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Kano.
He said, the centre is embarking on designing and developing a charter which will serve as a roadmap in its effort to strengthen democratic participation by going into partnership to work with four political parties including PRP YPP, PDP and APC in Kaduna and Kano States in other to promote inclusion in the democratic setting ahead of the upcoming general elections.

Responding to the development, Kano state PDP chairman, Shehu Sagagi assures full support of the party to work in synergy and uphold cordial relationship with the project.
“PDP in Kano is a youth driven party from both leadership level to followers which anyone can attest to. We have established overtime youth and women inclusion in all of our activities.
“Any female gender who is willing to join our party, we gave her free form to become a member.
“Youth are our focus. We are fully committed to both development and growth of our youth being those who will stage the mantle of leadership after us. That’s why we are taking them into the circle at all levels,” he added.
