Former governor of Lagos, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is presently in a closed-door meeting with former Kano State governor, Ibrahim Shekarau in Lagos.

Reports says  that the former Lagos governor reached out to Shekarau for the meeting.

The source said Tinubu has been worried about the ongoing political crises in Kano State in which the All Progressive Congress (APC’s) leadership was snatched from the governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, due to alleged undemocratic dispositions on his part.

Party Crisis:Former Ganduje’s Deputy Pitch Tent With Shekarau

A High Court on Wednesday gave a judgement with the implication that the governor’s faction of the party’s leadership was not properly elected. The court gave the Shekarau’s faction a clean bill.

While Ganduje and his group have been groping for a way out, reports have been circulating that the APC at the national level has also recognized the Shekarau faction, and governors of Ekiti and Jigawa were said to have addressed Ahmadu Haruna Danzago as Kano APC chairman, rather than Abdullahi Abbas who the Kano State governor endorsed.

Our source said Tinubu is also positioning himself within this new political re-arrangement in Kano State, and is quick to recognize Shekarau as the arrowhead of the new awakening.

While details of the meeting has not been made known, there are insinuations that Tinubu is already dumping Ganduje who he now sees as incapable of delivering Kano State in the 2023 general elections.
