Voluntary Return: Gov Zulum Presents Relief Items to IDPs In Bakasi Camp

Early this morning of Friday the 19th of November 2022, the Executive Governor of Borno State Professor Banagana Umara Zulum Mni Fnse visited Bakasi IDP Camp in Maiduguri.

The Governor’s visit was in relation to the voluntary return of the IDPs to their ancestoral homes due to the return of relative peace across the state and the resolve of the Government to close IDP Camps in the State Capital.

The Governor distributed food items where each head of Household received a token of 100 thousand Naira, 2 bags of 25kg Rice, one Cartoon of Spargetti and one gallon of cooking oil while the women received 50 thousand Naira each.

Gov. Zulum while addressing the IDPs, empathized the people stressing on their return which is voluntarily without any Compulsion While government had already done its part to fast track the process with all social infrastructures rebuild and reconstructed.

The Bakasi Camp is hosting IDPs from Marte, Monguno, Gwoza and Guzamala

The Governor appreciated the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari for providing the required leadership to the Ministry of Humanitrain Affairs and North East Development Commission to assist the State Government in its recovery efforts.
