Kumbotso Local Government council of Kano State has spent fifteen million Naira on the provision of learning materials and pupils’ Uniforms to fifty five Primary Schools in the area.
The chairman of the local government, Alhaji Hassan Garban Kauye Farawa, made the assertion, while inaugurating the distribution, explaining that five schools were selected in all the eleven wards of the local government area, where textbooks, exercise books, rulers, uniform materials for boys and girls were given to complement the effort of the State government on free and compulsory education.

Farawa said the local government had so far procured a piece of land worth, twenty million Naira and spent fifty two million Naira to build a model school in Mariri area of the local government, adding that the area council had provided scholarships for students to study at Istiqama University in Sumaila, as part of its efforts to boost education.
In a statement released to newsmen by the media Aid to the chairman Shazali Sale Farawa said Head teachers of the benefitting schools, commended the initiative of the Chairman, while assuring of the appropriate distribution of the materials.
