Emmanuel Imeh and Marylove Edwards on Saturday in Kano emerged men and ladies champions of 2021 Dala Hard Court Tennis Tournament.
Imeh Joseph beat Igbinovia Wilson
7/5, 6/3 to win N 1 million while Igbinovia got N500, 000 second position prize.
In the women category , Marylove Edwards beat Aiyegbusi Aanu 6/2, 6/2 to win N500,000 first prize money while Aanu received N300,000 as runner-up.

In the Men’s Double final,
Bikom Albert / Imeh Joseph beat Babalola Abdulmumin / Shehu Lawal.
6/3, 4/6, 11/9 to win N600,000 prize money.
Speaking at the closing of the event, the deputy governor of Kano state, Alhaji Nasiru Gawuna, commended the organisers for putting together such a gigantic competition.
He called on governments at all levels and other well to do individuals in the society to help the development of tennis.
Speaking also, the minister for sports, Mr Sunday Dare , commended the organisers for sustaining the competition for the past 34 years.
He said, “We are indeed commending organisers of this tournament, under the able leadership of Alhaji Bashari Muhammad Gumel.
He also commended the players for exhibiting sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The tournament was jointly sponsored by First Bank, Fidelity Bank, Dangote group.
