Insecurity : Zamfara Taskforce arrest over 1000 suspects, trials by mobile court

The Zamfara State Taskforce committee on the activities of banditry has arrested over one thousand (1000) suspects with various offenses, with 200 jericans of petrol across the State.

Also, the committee further disclosed that only 30 petrol  filling stations were allowed to operate at different locations  across the local government areas in the State.

Speaking in an interview on Saturday in Gusau, the Taskforce committee chairman Alhaji Abubakar Dauran said those arrested were arraigned before a mobile court set up in the State.

According to him  those arrested with drugs and other prohibited items were handed over to security agencies for more investigations.

“The committee has arrested over one thousand suspects some of them were arrested with petrol jericans, drugs, unauthorized motorcycles and transportation of soft drinks contrary to the mandate of the Taskforce”.

 

He said the committee has further discovered a Hotel where under age girls, married Women were lured for social vices in the State.

“We directed the immediate closure of the Hotel situated within Gusau, the State Capital”.

Dauran maintained that any unregistered Hotel and those registered but were not complying with the state laws would be close down in the State.

“The committee has written to the hotels Management board for authentication and number of hotels that operate in the State with a view to close all unregistered and non compliant lodges in the State “.

The committee called on people in the State to be more patient for the State to be free from crime and criminals activities in the State.
