The Jigawa state governor Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar Badaru constructed over 117 new day secondary schools within six year of his administration.
This was disclosed by the state commissioner for education Alhaji Lawan Yunusa Danzomo while speaking to news men during a media engagement organised by the Jigawa correspondent chapel and held at manpower development institute Dutse.
The commissioner who described the success of better education to the political will of the governor said, over N20 billion was spent on the provision of educational infrastructures in both primary and secondary schools.
He explained that, the present administration in the state have so far achieved 70 percent of upgrading Jigawa schools to effective schools as 580 schools with all basic facilities.

According to him, state government also succeeded in establishment of over 117 new day schools making over 3,000 schools and enrollment of over 1.5 million students.
He maintained that, over 30,000 out of school adult were enrolled into 81 centres for agency for mass education provided by the state government across 27 local government.
He said, the present administration also established 164 adult nomadic crisis resolution centres with aims to sensitize nomads against conflict in the communities.
The commissioner then commended governor Badaru for his political will on better provision of qualitative education in the state.
While delivering his remarks, the chairman Jigawa state correspondent chapel, comrade Muhammad Zangina Kura, commended the commissioner for honouring the invitation.
