NYSC DG charges corps members on national unity , integration

Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has charged Corps members on national unity and integration.

Ibrahim gave the charge on Tuesday during the swearing in ceremony of Batch “B” Stream 11 Corps members at NYSC Orientation Camp, Kusalla , Karaye Local Government Area, Kano State.

 

He stressed that the corps members were assembled from different and diverse ethnic , religious and socioeconomic backgrounds to enable them begin much envisaged roles in the promotion of national unity and integration.

 

“I encourage you to ensure healthy interactions, exchange ideas that will broaden your understanding of the country and build lasting friendships.

“The oath of allegiance you have just taken today is solemn. I explore you to always find time to mediate over its spirit and letters, and be guided by same throughout your service year,” he advised.

 

Represented by the state Coordinator , Hajiya Aisha Muhammad, also advised them to familiarize themselves with the content of both the NYSC Act and the NYSC Bye-Laws.

 

The DG urged the Corps members to respect the culture and values as well as contribute meaningfully to the development of their host communities.

Ibrahim explained that NYSC was assiduous in the implemention of of its Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program.

 

Earlier, state Coordinator, represented by camp director, Aliyu Ahmed, urged the Corps members to adhere strictly to COVID 19 protocols.

He said that the every member of the camp community ha tested negative to Corona Virus on arrival to the camp.

The coordinator assured that the entire camp was safe and there was no cause for alarm as the they continue to observed the laid down social distancing guidelines.
