In 22 Years Of Nigeria’s Democracy ,Governor Leads Friday Prayer

Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has called on wealthy Muslims to use their God given resources, to touch the lives of the people, stressing that such wealth will mean nothing if not employed in the service of Allah.

Engineer Sule made the call in his sermon while leading the two-rakaat Friday prayer, at the commissioning ceremony of two Mosques, built by Dr. Faisal Shuaib, in Shafan-Kwatto, Toto Local Government Area, on Friday.

The governor, who cited relevant verses of the holy Qur’an, to highlight the significance of using ones wealth to touch the lives of the people, enjoined wealthy individuals to do good things that will take them to Jannah.

According to Engineer Sule, a person’s wealth is valueless if it’s not used in the service of humanity, adding that, such admonishing is necessary, in order to draw the attention of wealthy individuals, to reach out to the less privileged members of the society.

The governor in the sermon, encouraged wealthy and influential individuals to deploy their wealth on beneficial projects such as, building of Mosques, schools, hospitals, creation of jobs and employment opportunities.

He equally emphasized on peaceful coexistence, noting that peace is fundamental to development.

Engineer Sule then led the two-rakaat Friday prayer.

Among prominent citizens that attended the commissioning ceremony include two former governors namely Senators Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-makura, Emir of Lafia, HRH Justice Sidi Bage (rtd), among other elected and top government functionaries.
