General Akilu added that the same thing is applied to people like retired General ALiyu Gusau and others.

According to General Akilu people like General, ALiyu GUsau has been all his life intelligence chief but he is not being consulted on issues of security.

He also informed KAFTAN television that during the second republic when there was Maitatsiine insurrection Kano as the battalion commander who dislodged Marwa and his co-conspirators he used people who live inside the city of Kano and who have the foreknowledge of how the place Yan AWAKi is before troops descended on Maitasine and killed him along BUK Road all in 12 hours.

General Halliru Akilu also advises the federal government to use the strategy adopted by General Yakubu Gowon during the civil war by remobilizing and reintegrating old hands in the military to defeat insurgency and banditry once and for all.

The over 70-year-old retired General added that President Muhammadu Buhari would have shelved the idea of securing a second term in office by allowing more capable hands to take over so that he becomes a hero and his name written on the marble.
