Kano committed to sustain agricultural partnership with France-Ganduje

Kano State Governor Dr.Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has said that his administration is committed towards sustaining the agricultural partnership which had existed for many years with French government.

The Governor represented by his Deputy Dr.Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna made the statement monday while receiving the French Ambassador to Nigeria Mr.Jerome Pasquier in his office.

He said now the partnership will be enhanced through the Tropical Agriculture and Special Agricultural Processing Programme an initiative of the Federal Government and Kano State.

The Governor appreciated the French government for executing some laudable projects particularly rural access roads aimed towards developing the State and however call its Investors to come to Kano which is endowed with economic potentials,population and vast land.

While reiterating the commitment of the State Government in continuing the partnership also in the education sector with the French government, the Governor equally commended them for their assistance in provision of portable drinking water in the State.

On his part, the French Ambassador to Nigeria Mr.Jerome Pasquier said they were in Kano to discuss how to improve Agriculture and open more business activities in the State.

“Kano is a large market very important to us therefore with the support of the State Government we are hoping of increasing French community presence in Kano” He said.

Mr.Pasquier assured of continued support and cooperation to Kano State Government in its effort to enhance socio-economic activities of its people.
