Breaking: Sheikh Zarban, Saudi Scholar Who Admires Nigeria Passes On

Sheikh Abdullahi Azzarban Alghamidy, a Saudi Islamic scholar who admire and is passionate about Nigeria passes on  today in  Madina

Sheikh Dr Abdallah Azzarban teaches at the Islamic University of Madina and was a tutor to many international scholars including some Nigerians.

Even at old age Shiekh Zarban mostly calls Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar and Dr Muhammad Sani Umar Rijiyar Lemo to greet audiences attending Islamic lessons at Alfurqan Mosque and Dr Muhammad Sani Umar Rijiyar Lemo’s Islamic lessons.

In the early 1980s and 1990s, Sheikh Abdallah Zarban led Scholars of the Islamic University of Medina for a programme titled Dauratuttadriby limuallimillughatil Arabiyya to Nigeria for a programme that serves as a prelude for enrolling Nigerians to study in Medina.

The programme led by Sheikh Zarban took place in the following Nigerian cities which include Kano, Sokoto, Maiduguri and Ilorin.

During Late sheikh Zarban’s visits to Nigeria, he has led Friday prayers in many Mosques in Kano including Daawah and BUK old site Mosques.

He was also a great ally of late Nigerian Scholar Sheikh Aminudden Abubakar.

In Kano North-West Nigeria a Mosque was named after him located in the Yankaba area of Nassarawa local government.

The funeral prayer of Sheikh Abdallah Zarban will take place on Saturday at the prophet’s Mosque in Medina during Asr prayer.

It could be recalled that Sheikh Abdallah Zarban dedicated his entire library to a Nigerian scholar and a product of the Islamic University of Medina Dr Abubakar Sani Birnin Kudu and the compendium of his Books collection was brought to Nigeria and handed over to Dr Birnin Kudu.
