The Minister of Humanitarian, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Faruk has flagged up enumeration exercise of primary school pupils in Zamfara State, says the federal government is committed to feeds pupils in primary schools.
Speaking while flagging up the enumeration exercise on Tuesday at Janyau primary and Model primary schools in Gusau and Maru town respectively, they disclosed that the aim of the exercise is to improve in school feeding programs in the State.
According to the Minister, at the end of the exercise, the federal government is Targeting about fourteen million(14million) pupils that would benefit from the program across the country.
The Minister who was represented by Barrister Ibrahim Modibbo of the legal department in the ministry said they were in the State to flag up the enumeration exercise with a view to having more and accurate data on the number of primary schools pupil that would benefit from the federal government feeding program.
“We are hoping at the end of the exercise, the federal government would get more data that would assist in providing feeding to pupils of primary schools”.
He maintained that the enumeration exercise would only capture pupils of primary one to three.
Meanwhile, at Maru local government area, the Emir of maru Alhaji Abubakar Maigarj has commended the federal government for initiating the feeding of primary schools pupil in the country.

The emir who spoke shortly after the flag-up exercise in Maru town said the federal government feeding program has assisted in the increased enrollment of pupils in the State and country at large.
He called on people at all levels to support the federal government efforts in the provision of education for their wards, Children.
“It is the responsibility of every parent to educate their children to ward with quality Education, but the federal government supported us, this is commendable”.
“Free feeding has encouraged more parents to enroll their children into schools across the emirate”, he stressed.
