<p>The Deputy Director, Security Enforcement, Kwara State Command, Paul Oduh, who said this in his paper, entitled: “Security tips for health practitioners in Kwara”, at a symposium organized by the state branch of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), noted that such habit by Nigerians is a great security risk.</p>

<p>He said these were not the best of times to show off in the country, considering current security challenges. Adding that show of affluence in public was one of the factors that usually attract the attention of criminal elements.</p>

<p>“The country is ravaged by insecurity on daily basis. However, people should not despair, security should be the concern of all people and they must be enlightened on it.</p>

<p>“Security can never be 100 percent everywhere in the world. People should be knowledgeable enough about those things they can do to protect themselves.</p>

<p>“There is a need to accept that threats exist and people are targets of these threats. This is why people should put in place measures to safeguard themselves from such threats.”</p>

<p>Oduh said keeping negative <a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/074959789090047D">habitual routines</a>, such as keeping late nights all the time and driving on a particular route every time can also put individuals under observation by all manner of attackers.</p>

<p>The DSS director advised Nigerians should not only secure their homes and properties with physical security measures, and also be alert on happenings around them.</p>
