Breaking: Former Jigawa MILAD Brig. Gen. Aliyu Passes On

Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa State with utter sadness announced the death of former Military Administrator of Jigawa State Brigadier General Ibrahim Aliyu rtd. Who died yesterday Friday in Kaduna.

Governor Badaru described the death of General Aliyu as a great loss to the people and Government of Jigawa  State, He said that the late General sacrificed his life in the service of humanity.

It could be recalled that early this month His Excellency the Vice President Yemi Osibanjo was in Jigawa state to commissioned a road named after General Ibrahim Aliyu as part of the recognition of his contribution to the state.

In a state by Habibu Nuhu Kila, the special adviser to the Governor on Media and public relations said Governor Badaru pray to the Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest and condole his family and people of Jigawa State the fortitude to bear the loss.

NIGERIAN TRACKER gathered that Brigadier General Ibrahim Aliyu ruled Jigawa state from 1993 to 1996 during the administration of late General Sani Abacha before the change of military administrators throughout the federation where he was succeeded by retired Colonel Abdurrasheed Alade Shekoni.

Colonel Ibrahim Aliyu ruled Jigawa at the rank of colonel and was among the victims of the massive retirement of senior officers who held political office from 1985 to 1999 when power was handed over to General Olusegun Obasanjo on May 29 1999.
