<p>The Kano State House of Assembly has urged the State Government to complete the abandoned road and culverts projects that link Garko and Sumaila Local Government Areas of the state.</p>

<p>This followed the adoption of a motion of urgent public interest by Mr. Abba Garko (APC-Garko) at plenary, presided over by Speaker Hamisu Ibrahim-Chidari on Tuesday.</p>

<p>Presenting the motion, Garko explained that the road, when completed would speed up the socio-economic and cultural development of the area.</p>

<p>“Therefore, we are appealing to the state government to continue with the project because of its socio-economic benefits to the communities,” he said.</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p>According to him, the communities in the area find it difficult to convey patients to hospitals as well as goods and services to the city or neighboring communities, due to the state of the roads.</p>
<p> ;</p>
<p>“Most of the people in the affected communities are either<a href="https://www.quora.com/Why-is-a-farmer-greater-than-a-businessman"> farmers or businessmen;</a> the bad condition of the road has negatively affected their economy,” he explained.</p>

<p>Our correspondent reports that the motion was supported by the Deputy Speaker, (APC-Sumaila) Mr. Zubairu Massu and was fully deliberated before the floor of the House.</p>

<p>After debates by the lawmakers, the House unanimously adopted the motion and urged the state government to take necessary action on the issue.</p>

<p>Similarly, the House also adopted a motion urging the government to construct a road linking Zakirai to Gumawa, Kawo and Garun Danga in Gabasawa Local Government area.</p>

<p>This followed the adoption of a motion by Salisu Dan- Azumi (APC-Gabasawa) which was read on his behalf by Mr. Isyaku Danja (PDP-Gezawa)</p>
