Following an attack on Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s convoy by suspected bandits in Zamfara state, two of the three police officers who sustained severe injuries have been discharged from the Hospital.

A source who is privy to the situation told NIGERIAN TRACKER that an ASP of the counter terrorism unit will be operated on his right hand due to bullet wounds he sustained as a result of the attack.

During the attack which was initially reported by an online news medium (not NIGERIAN TRACKER) said when Governor Ganduje’s convoy was attacked ,the governor was not in the convoy unlike what happened on 5th October 2017 on his way to Jos from Abuja around Hayin Banki within the shores of Plateau state.

By then, the Governor was on his way to attend the funeral of Governor Simon Lalong’s brother held at the Governor’s home town of Shendam local government of Plateau state.

The Zamfara attack on Governor Ganduje’s convoy was one of the trending stories at online platforms on June 30th 2021, less than 24 hours after the incidence.

Our source also said one of the policemen was very lucky as during the gun duel with the bandits a bullet brush one of his eyebrows which slightly injured one of his eyes.
