Just in: Armed bandits kill Lawmaker in Zamfara

A member of the Zamfara State house of Assembly representing shinkafi local government area Honourable Muhammad G.Ahmed was killed by armed bandits in the State.

Honourable G.Ahmed was ambushed by the underworld men along Sheme to Funtua and was shot and dies in the early hours of Wednesday.

He was said to be traveling to kano for registration of his son who got admission in one of the institutions.

It was gathered that the lawmaker until his death was the chairman house committee on Finance and appropriations bill and was the long serving lawmaker in the State assembly.

The deceased lawmaker served as local government secretary and was a lecturer at the college of Education in sokoto State before he joined politics in 1999 the State.

Confirming his death,the clerk of the house Alhaji Shehu Saidu Anka said the lawmaker was shot by armed bandits along Sheme-Funtua road in katsina State.

The clerk of the house said his funeral prayer would be held today at sheik Umar kanoma Jummuat mosque by 12am.
