Jigawa state Government has targeted over 11,000 pregnant women under it’s social protection program this year.
Child Development Grant Program, CDGP project manager Kano, Jigawa states offices Mrs Stella Esedumne disclosed this on Wednesday at media sensitization for social protection and inclusion reporting held in Dutse.
She explained that Jigawa state Government had budgeted over 800m in this year’s budget for the official take off of the program.

Stella said eleven thousands pregnant women were selected across the state to benefit with four thousand Naira grant monthly for the period of one year.
She said fourty two women were selected in each of the 286 political ward across the state.
A recent survey has shown that 60 per cent of children under the age of five years are suffering from impair growth due to acute severe malnutrition in Jigawa State.
The aim of the program is to improve maternal and child health and reduce the number of stunted children in state.
