Funeral prayers in absentia known as Salatul Gha’ib will be conducted for late Brigadier General Abdurrahman Kuliya at Al-Furqan Juma’at Mosque in Kano by 1 Pm after Zuhr prayers.
Brigadier General Idris Kuliya was among the victims of the plane crash that claims the lives of Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru.
The prayer for Brigadier Kuliya will be conducted in absentia and is expected to be led by Chief Imam of Al-Furqan Mosque in Kano Sheikh Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar.
Its a military tradition to conduct funeral prayers for military officers both rank and file who died in the course of service to their father land and they are mostly buried in military cemetery.

Therefor the management of Al-Furqan Mosque decided to conduct the funeral prayer for Brigadier General Idris Kuliya in absentia.
The chief Imam of Alfurqan Dr Bashir Aliyu Umar confirmed the conduct of the funeral prayer to NIGERIAN TRACKER on phone.
An Islamic Scholar Sheikh Ali Dan Abba sai the revered prophet of Islam prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam conducted funeral prayer in absentia for the king of Ethiopia Najjashi whom was informed by Angel Jibril about his demise to the Holy Prophet .
He said to pray more for the soul of a deceased muslim Salatul Gha’ib funeral in absentia is mostly performed.
Many prominent people have had the chance of being blessed with Salatul Gha’ib when they died.
For example the late chairman Da’awah Group of Nigeria in Kano late sheikh Aminuddeen Abubakar conducted Salatul Gha’ib for many prominent Palastinian leaders killed by Israel warfare among them were late Hamas leader sheikh Ahmad Yasin Ramadan and Abdul’Aziz Rantisi.
On June 6th 2014 when Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero died the chief Imam of Bompai Jumu’at Mosque also in Kano Sheikh Yushau Yusuf Abdurrauf conducted funeral prayers in absentia for Alhaji Ado Bayero.
