Kano Yoruba Community leader and the first chartered president of Rotary club of Bompai, Kano, Muri Jawando is dead.

The renown philanthropist died aged 85.

According to a statement signed by Adebukola Jawando Esq, for the family of the deceased, note that the octogenarian died “in his sleep on Monday 17th May 2021, after a protracted illness.

The statement further stated that, late Muri Jawando is a fellow of the Royal Institute of chartered Surveyors of London and fellow Nigeria Institute of Valuers.

Our checks reveal that until his demise, chief Jawando, who bagged various prestigious awards held the position of the Executive chairman , Muri Jawando and co a property development consultancy firm.

Pa Jawando hails from the Jawando family in Ibadan.

He is survived by five children, his remains would be interred in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo state, family sources disclosed.

His contributions towards the development of Yoruba Community in Kano earned him the title of Balogun.
