Ramadan:Kano Anti-Graft Agency Warns Against Fuel Hoarding

Kano State Anti-Corruption Commission has urged filling stations in Kano and environs to desist from fuel hoarding as fasting of Ramadan sets in.

The chairman Kano State Anti-Corruption Commission Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado stated this while addressing newsmen at his office.

Muhuyi Magaji said the recent fuel scarcity being experienced in Kano metropolis is not artificial but the scarcity of the commodity.

According to Muhuyi Magaji the commission apart from today Will continue to monitor filling stations in Kano in order to curb hoarding of the commodity.

On foodstuffs Muhuyi Magaji said his commission in conjuction with market leaders have promised not to increase essential commodities that was recorded last year.

The chairman further said

“Today we found a different scenario,most of the filing station don’t have commodity, the commodity is not available, Depot manager assured us the fuel quues will disappear, the scarcity is not artificial, our patrol team are going round,we have engaged the marketers including Dawanau and singer market, this year there will be no artificial inflation, we have nothing less than 450 trucks of grains,we restrict our focus on the essential commodities”

 

We have an accord with Dawanau market association, it’s the work of touts that are making things difficult with regards to Price hike especially beans,
Artificial inflation is no longer tenable,we restrict ourselves to what the common needs ,within the first 15 days of Ramadan no one will suffer up to the completion ”

We have gone out there is no fuel ,we went to DPR,and the Depot, whoever get oil should not divert the fuel ,

 

We have sat down with stakeholders on grain, the sugar has not skyrocket unlike last year when it quadruple it’s price.
