Football :Deputy Gov Shuaibu Captain Team Edo To 4-2 Win, Team Borno Blame Poor Officiating

Edo state deputy governor , Philip Shuaibu , Friday morning at Uniben mini stadium led Team Edo to secure a hard won 4-2 victory over Team Borno in the quarter finals of the male football event.

The deputy governor spotting jersey no 10 came in as a sub in the 75th minute, cheered on by the crowd at the stadium , his subtle touches attracted loud ovation from the stands.

Before going into the game, responding to questions from Nigeria Tracker in Hausa language , Shuaibu said ” I am going into the match to play and also show my skills..”

In a post match interview, Team Edo, football head coach , Osayemure Aghahowa boasted that the host team is posed to emerge overall winners of football event.
He said ” I see gold.”

His Team Borno counterpart Mohammed Shehu blamed the quarter final ouster of his lads on poor officiating.

He lamented that the centre official and his assistants crippled the wonderful efforts put up by his lads.

He appealed to referees officiating at the games to be fair in enforcing the laws of the game.
