Team Bayelsa occupy top of the medals log at the 20th edition of the ongoing National Sports Festival, NSF with eight gold medals.
The Bayelsans are trailed by their arch rivals from Team Delta with seven gold medals, in their pouch, while the host Team Edo are third on the log with 5 gold medals.
As at on Tuesday afternoon, hours to the commencement of the official opening ceremony, the trio Niger Delta states are deep neck in the battle for NSF 2020 supremacy , our correspondent reports that the mass number of the medals won by the trio state were fetched from swimming and combat events.

Meanwhile Edo has taken dominance of cricket events, the host won gold in Cricket 6 Aside Women event beating their opponents from Lagos.
Edo Boys also edge past Kwara in Cricket 6 Aside to record gold medal.
Delta State swimmer, Forsight Osamuzu created a record in swimming breast stroke returning a time of 1.06.66 to dismiss the swimming record set and held by Rivers State born swimmer, Williams.
It would be recalled that Bayelsa state governor , Douye Diri has assured the state contingent that they would be rewarded handsomely, if they tumble the past towering dominance of the past games by Delta and Edo state.
