The birth of mobile technology has brought about evolutions of new trends and numerous business possibilities have emerged from it.
Very little is known about the great value of mobile-enabled businesses in our clime, beneficiaries of the empowerment scheme of over 250 persons with mobile smartphones by Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa is timely and commendable, this initiative wouldn’t have come at a better time than when the country as a whole is divesting into the digital economy market.
It is more instructive that the global COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted traditional work adaptabilities enabling a digital domestic economy environment that are more than 80% of the time more practicable with smartphones.
Before the pandemic, the industrial age was proceeded by the information age resulting to the disappearance of some physical hardwork/labour bringing about the dangers of job loss and unemployment but today, the concept of digital economy has come to the rescue and with just an enabling device like this smart phone that 250 youth were empowered with by Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa along with internet access, the key to tapping into this boundless opportunities that exist in the digital space have been handed to you on a gold platter.

The concept of Mobile business, mobile retailing, mobile networking, mobile Journalism, mobile sales, mobile customer acquisition and retention to mention a few are all concept that have evolved alongside these opportunities and are continuously being enabled by extensive utilization of mobile and wireless technologies and devices the likes of which the youth were given.
Hon. Kofa have given youth the opportunity to provide personal business development services especially as they network online, tap into e-commerce, venture into graphics design and video editing, offer to manage a company’s social media account and even those of individuals and prominent personalities, vlogging, blogging, podcasting, online publishing among other digital skills for self-empowerment, leading to self-employment.
More importantly, mobile enabled sales are the future of self-employment especially as it leads to increased efficiency, more natural client relationship, round the clock sales, easy access, to mention a few.
The recent and laudable intervention on the lives of 250 youths in Kano by Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa is therefore timely and key, the first of its kind in kano.
I hope the beneficiaries will utilize the phones maximally in ensuring that this empowerment marks a turning point in the trajectory of your lives towards self – empowerment, self-employment and massive wealth creation for a sustainable economy.
