<p>Kano state female combat athlete and medal hopeful at the ongoing National Sports Festival NSF Edo 2020 , (name withheld) have been placed under quarantine by medical officials.</p>
<p>Our checks revealed that the athlete last Saturday underwent Rapid Diagnostic Test, RPD, the result returned positive prompting the decision to quarantine her at the games village medical waiting room.</p>
<p>Sources revealed that her sample B have been taken the results were anxiously awaited, the results expected to be out within 24 hours is yet to be made public.</p>

<p>The official said &#8221; the medical sub committee directed that she should be in the waiting room as we wait for her PCR examination result.</p>
<p>When contacted , the spokesman Kano state Sports Commission , KSSC Abbati Sabo said &#8221; I cannot comment on the issue, it is technical and am yet to be properly briefed by our medical team.&#8221;</p>
<p>The quarantine athlete is renown for her outstanding performance that have won her laurels at previous major competitions.</p>
<p>Our investigations revealed that the development has infringed on the morale of Team Kano, athletes in Kano camp at the Games Village at University of Benin , Uniben have continued to express worries about the fate of their colleague in the waiting room.</p>
