In a carnival-like atmosphere at the Bayero University Playground in Kano, fans of LaLiga Club, RC Celta won the Mini Fans League put together by LaLiga Nigeria at the weekend.
The competition dubbed the MINI FANS LEAGUE was played among fans of ten Spanish top-flight teams; Real Madrid, Athletico Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, Sevilla, Villarreal, Real Sociedad, Celta Vigo, Valencia, and Real Betis.
Speaking during the trophy presentation, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration, Professor Mahmud Umar Sanni who represented the Vice-Chancellor expressed delight to LALIGA for its choice of the institution to host its maiden edition of the competition assuring that the university shall continue to partner with LALIGA in future competitions anytime the need arises.

Earlier in the day at the seminar attended by students of the University, LaLiga Delegate for Nigeria, Desmond Chiji reiterated LaLiga’s support for capacity building and grassroots development in Nigeria.
“Nigeria is an important territory for us, we have a lot of fans here, and we also have strategic partnerships to aid the development of football in the country. We will continue to provide support in any way we can to ensure that both Nigeria Football and our brand grow together.” Some of the dignitaries who attended the events include; The Chairman Kano State Football Association and Council Member of the Nigerian Football Federation, Dr. Sharif Inuwa Ahlan, and LALIGA Ambassador, Mutiu Adepoju.
