many of its members are losing.

According to Ramadan, following the economic difficulty the Coronavirus pandemic plunged fish farmers in the state, the association decided to increase the price of kilo by N50.

“Following the Coronavirus lockdown in the state, there is an increase of N2000 on each bag of fish feed. Besides the feed is now very scarce in Kano State.

“Our fish are starving. Imagine the loss our members are going to record.

“We decided on an increase of N50 per kilo but our customers have refused to accept the new price we have decided on.

“Based on this, we are calling on the Federal Government to come to our aid in and gives grant us grant”

Ramadan added that since the federal government is considering a ban on the importation of fish, the best way to go about it is to encourage indigenous fish farming.
