Perturbed by the consistent disdain for Northerners by the media is increasing incredibly worrisome. Any person who hasn’t visited the North will be so limited in their understanding of the region without getting to know the people. Take a trip to a place before you judge. See it beyond what books, the media or people tell you.
When ever the name Arewa ( North) is mentioned, the first thing that comes to ones mind is Illiteracy and a Muslim north with no Christians. While others sees it from Political angles as Power Mongers who are hell-bent to keep Power with them.

This is what the Media told other regions about us and they believed it.
With the level of Banditry, kidnapping and terrorism going on in the region, the Conspiracy theories against the region is now glaring as a region for radicalization of the Youths in a bid to pose a threat to National Security.
Our National Security today is in a sorry state where Bandits can not be traced or tracked by our gallant officers but by religious Scholar whom Saudi once sees him as a radical Cleric holding a radical views about Islam.
Videos going round with So-called Fulanis with Ak47s and RPGs shouting ” Allahu Akubar” instead of ALLAHU AKBAAR with infants Crying exposed the perpetrators as people with no Human sympathy and lack or with no religious knowledge.
A region that lost her Glory due to Selfish Leadership from the Grassroots. The Kagara school Kidnap has Exposed the State Government on the Sorry state of our Educational System ( Such School will never Produce 1st Class Students ) looking at the infrastructures. When you remove Kaduna, Maiduguri and Kano, these are the states of schools in Arewa except private schools for Profit maximization.
The media also Contributed in painting the region black, so much that a Youth Corper is Afraid to be posted to the Core north. And of course do we blame them when you don’t invest in Education and the media ?
Today, even Wars starts from the media and ends with the Media. We lost out here.
Some of our leaders are afraid of technologies with Sophisticated Phones that they can only make or receive calls nothing more or less. The youths are left out on Arewa twitter displaying expensive Shaddas and Gezna while Facebook is for Insults and blackmails. For WhatsApp, Phonography have taken over there.
Unless and until our leaders wake up from their slumber, there will be no hope for the future of Arewa and it’s Leadership. And if care is not taken, there would be nothing left but radicalized, fanatical and foundamental views across the region that is already sitting on a time bomb.
Every Governor must be held accountable not Federal Government alone as we used to see today. And every Governor must Produce his or her Blueprints to the people to look into. If voted, must work strictly within such a framework or Blueprint.
All these can be achieved through a professional media and unbiased coverage, PR, Documentations with documentaries on our history, heritage, Culture, norms, values and Peaceful Coexistence.
Religion must be seen as Personal thing of which there’s no Compulsion in it.
And we can achieved it when we believe and work towards it.
