Northern community or society which is synonymously called “Hausa land” often, it’s a base and home to all Nigerians irrespective of someone’s tribe, religion, culture, lingual and ethnic differences.
It is a land that believes in humanity and respect for one another. It provides job opportunities to all and sundry.
Our governments protect the lives and properties of everyone dwelling in the state without bias or despise to non-indigenes.
Unfortunately, the reverse is the case in the many Southern States due to what is currently happening in Ibadan, and what had happened in other states some years back.
The properties and lives of our people are at stake, they burnt and vandalized a significant amount of our properties in conjunction with killing us.
Most of the southern indigenes see any Northerner as a threat to their economy, security, and social well being just because of the hatred and hostility they have upon us.

They consider us as passives, dulls, and uncivilized in the society by using broken English, cultism, patronizing bear parlors, fornication, adultery, and all other indecencies as yardsticks in qualifying or disqualifying someone’s wisdom and civilization.
Whenever there is a misunderstanding between two parties (northerner and southerner), without any justifiable reason they will attack the northerner, just because of the enmity they have against us.
We are oppressed openly but their governments are not ready to protect us, because they don’t consider us as one.
However, we don’t blame them most of the time due to the negligence and unconcern attitudes of our Northern Governors, they took off our clothes in public and who do you think will lead in putting our clothes back?
Enough is enough, and something must be done to stop these oppressions otherwise these will lead to a serious conflict.
Recommendations
- Northern businessmen more especially those taking groceries and meats should have another alternative instead of supplying it to the south.
- Northern folks should stop giving the southerners houses for rent.
- Southerners should be treated the way they are treating Northerners in their land.
- Northerners should boycott southern products.
- Our Governors should initiates or come up with programs that will increase the rate of taxes paid by the southerners.
