Federal Ministry of Education in collaboration with State Ministry of Education Kano, the State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, UNICEF, and the Global Partnership for Education GPE have conducted 2-day testing and finalization of the developed jingles and messages as part of back to school campaign.
While declaring the meeting open in the ministry at Covid 19 hall, the state Commissioner of education, Dr. Muhammad Sunusi Said Kiru said, the meeting was to seek the support and cooperation of relevant stakeholders on back to school campaign.
He said; “After Covid-19 so many things happened and we need to embark on this campaign because many parents are really scared to release their children to go to school. So they need to be educated adequately, that’s why we really support this campaign”
The Commissioner added that the ministry with the support of the state government has done its best in providing Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to public and private schools in the state.
Dr. Kiru also thanked donor agencies especially the UNICEF for supporting the Ministry to conduct E-learning via Radio and Television stations to keep students busy during a stay at home as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
On his part, the chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB kano, Dr. Danlami Hayyo, who spoke through the Director Junior Secondary School Mallam Shuaibu Yunusa, reassured the commitment of the Board to continue partnering with International Organization and Donor Agencies to improve the Standard of Education, then commended all concerned for coming up with welcome the development.

“We are really in this, and we are ever ready to give our support to GPE, UNICEF, and other stakeholders involved to sustain the tempo. We are happy the program is taking place and Kano being a beneficiary of this campaign” Hayyo added.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Covid-19 Desk Officer, Federal ministry of education, Mr. Joseph Achede, said the objective of the meeting was to play and listen to jingles on the Back to schools campaign which was produced by the Federal Ministry of Education for Stake Holders inputs, Comments, Observations and Recommendations for acceptability adding that two jingles were produced by experts in two Nigerian Languages Hausa and Igbo.
Among participants present were the representation of the NUT, traditional leaders, community leaders, and students from Tsanyawa and Kunchi among others.
