Zamfara Politics: Decamp to PDP or relinquish your position– SA tells appointees

In Zamfara state, all Special Advisers who are not members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)in the state were given a 3-day ultimatum to join the party (PDP )or relinquish their positions in the state.

 

Addressing newsmen on Tuesday evening shortly after a meeting, the special adviser to Zamfara Governor on political matters Alhaji Ibrahim Maaji said they can’t be advisers with loyalty to two political parties.

 

Maaji who is also the chairman forum of special advisers in the state said the ultimatum was given from now to Friday.

 

“Any Special Adviser who is not a member of the ruling PDP in the state must either join the party or relinquish his position”.

He explained that Special advisers can’t be a member of two political parties at the same time, “we are calling on those who are yet to decamp to ruling people’s Democratic Party ((PDP) to quickly do so from now to Friday”.

 

According to him, he would personally meet and discuss with those Special Advisers who didn’t belong to the ruling PDP in the state and intimate them if they were willing to comply and decamp.

 

“It would not be proper to allow people who were not PDP members to continue holding their positions as Advisers to Governor Bello Matawalle of PDP in the state.

 

“We called them to change their minds and join the PDP so that we will move together and help Governor Matawalle in his efforts to take our state to the promised land”.

 

All the Special advisers during the meeting commended Governor Matawalle’s leadership qualities.

 

“We commended the Governor’s efforts in his peace initiatives, assistance to women, and scholarship to indigenes of the state”.
