President Grover Cleveland has recorded History in the 245-year-old American Democracy as the only President who served two non-consecutive terms in office.

Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the united states of America between 1885 and 1889 and between 1893 and 1897.

up till this moment when the united states swore its 46th president, Joe Biden on 20th January 2021 after a keenly contested election with Donald Trump, all the American Presidents from George Washinton to Biden served two consecutive terms in office or never have the chance of staging a comeback after their defeats in trying to secure the second election.

Trump Promises Peaceful Transfer of Power

In recent history, some American Presidents that tried to secure second terms and fail are President Jimmy Carter, George Walker Bush, and recent Donald Trump, after their defeat in their attempt to secure a second term, they refuse to indicate interest in the latter part of their political life.

But whether Trump will attempt a  comeback in 2024 after his defeat in 2020 remains to be seen.

Grover Cleveland was also the only United States president who entered the White House as a Bachelor but later married in the white house to a 21-year-old Frances Folsom.

After handing over to President William Mckinley he resides in Newjersy and died in 1908
