A professor of education and Deputy secretary Nigeria’s supreme Council of Islamic affairs Professor Salisu Shehu has been appointed as the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Al-Istiqamah University.
Al-Istiqamah University is one of the 22 private universities approved by the federal executive Council.
Professor Salisu Shehu is an educational psychologist who teaches at the Bayero University Kano.

Apart from that Prof Shehu is a well versed Islamic scholar and one of Bayero University orators.
He is well known in comparative religion and have memorised the glorious Quran.
He was born in 1965 at Tafawa Balewa local government in Bauchi State North-Eastern Nigeria.
He has to his credit several Publications in National and international journals.
