Danburan Kano Faruk ,The First Son Of Emir Bayero To Acquire Western Education

Known with a slogan (Danburan Dodo na Arewa) Late Faruk Bayero was the Fifth son of the Tenth Emir of Kano under Fulani Clan Late Abdullahi Bayero.

He was the first among the Emir’s children to acquire western education up to the United Kingdom where he went through a course known as “Local Government Administration” together with his friends including the Late Sardauna of Sokoto Sir Ahmadu Bello.

He served as The Head of the Native Security Guards known as “Wakilin Doka” after which he was turbanned as Danburan of Kano by his father Amir Abdullahi Bayero.

He was relieved from the Palace responsibility by his senior brother Late Emir of Kano Muhammad Sanusi who was also relieved by Late Sadauna, premier of the then defunct northern region.

During his time Late Danburan Faruk Bayero was a District Head at Minjibir, Samaila, Gwaram and Kumbotso.

According to the Late Maitama Sule Danmasanin Kano, Late Mudi Speaking and Late Shehu Minjibir, Malam Faruku Danburan as he was known has contributed alot to the development of Islam and to the well being of the led/less privileges.

He also succeeded in enrolling many of his aids children, brothers and other people of the communities he served.

Among whom the Late Emir of Kano Ado Bayero, Late Governor of Kano Abubakar Rimi, Malam Ado Gwaram former SSG to the Kano State Government, Sardauna of Dutse Alhaji Bello Maitama Yusuf amongst others.

His hobby is Polo where he was playing the game with European people living in Kano at that time.

He died a year after the coronation of the Late Emir of Kano Ado Bayero.

Among his children are: Late Danmalikin Kano Maitama Faruk Bayero, Malam Bello Faruk Bayero, Late Malam Aminu Faruk Bayero (Nadawaki), Late Mahe Faruk Bayero and Late Bashari Faruk Roukbah the Publisher of a Hausa drama book (Matar mutum kabarin sa).
