Zamfara State Government operates on International Public Sector Accounting Standards – DG

The Director General, Directorate of Investment and Public Private Partnership, Zamfara State, Alh. Idris Garba Rikiji said, the state government has begun to implement the International Public Sector Accounting Standards, IPSAS, for accountability and transparency.

This is contained in a statement signed and made available to Radio Nigeria in Gusau by the State Publicity Secretary of Director Generals Forum, Alh. Jamilu Haruna Kalale.

The statement explained that, Alh. Idris Garba Rikiji who is the Chairman of the Director Generals Forum revealed this during a One Day workshop organized by the state government for all the Director Generals on the implementation of the IPSAS, said the workshop has impacted new methodology and improved the capacity of the participants on how best to practice the IPSAS on general financial dealings across the state government’s Ministries, Departments and Agencies.

Idris added that, the present administration of the state under governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle was determined to revitalize activities of all public offices and revamp the state in all ramifications, saying as lieutenants to the governor they have resolved to operate based on international standard and Nigeria’s doctrine for prudent, accountable and transparent leadership.

He noted that, Political office holders and other civil servants in the state will be continue to be exposed to training and retraining to ensure success of the set objectives.
