8 Years After An Attack On Late Emir Ado Bayero

On January 19, 2013, The late Emir Of Kano Alhaji Ado Abdullahi Bayero was attacked after attending a Quranic graduation ceremony close to Murtala Muhammad Mosque in Kano.

The attack on late Emir Bayero shook the nation as he almost lost his life but was severely injured on his forehead.

But despite his escape, the late monarch lost his Royal bodyguards who surrounded the vehicle to protect him but the bullet of the attackers did not spare them they lost their lives in the service of their master.

The attack on late Emir Bayero happened when the Boko Haram sect was having a field day in many parts of Nigeria which includes the North-East.

 

The January 19, 2013 attack on Emir Ado Bayero took place when he was preparing to celebrate Golden Jubilee on the throne of Kano in June 2013.

When Late Emir Bayero visited the United Kingdom to look after his health in the aftermath of the attack, the archbishop of Canterbury and the Head of the church of England sympathise with Emir Bayero and said the shock he got during the attack may be one of the reasons that his health deteriorated.

Late Emir Bayero died on June 6th, 2014 on Friday after a brief illness, he was succeeded by his grandson Emir Muhammad Sunusi II.

The 14th Emir of Kano who was removed from office in March 2020 succeeded in making people from the North to stop fearing Boko Haram.

That contributed to the defeat of their propaganda and people started to become fearless about the intimidation of the sect.
