SACA Empowers 250 HIV/AIDS Patients

KNSG has trained and empowered over 250 people living with HIV/AIDS and other vulnerable groups on various skill acquisition to improve their well being and economic status in order to achieve sustainable development in the state.

Speaking at graduations ceremony held at OCIL Training School the Director-General of the State Agency for the Control of AIDS, Dr Sabitu Y. Shu’aibu Shanono said the empowerment will help to combat the high level of poverty and unemployment
especially among those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS in the State.

He pleaded with the beneficiaries to make uptimum use of the skills they acquired and the materials received during the program.

Shanono hinted that participants were trained in the Makeup artistry, Tailoring and Leatherwork and the State government under the leadership of Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has provided everything needed towards the successful completion of the empowerment exercise which will greatly impact on the states economy.

He commended the efforts of trainers for smooth conduct of the exercise.

Earlier, the Chairman Network of people living with HIV/AIDS in the State Comrade Nuhu Tela Gaya express delight over the empowerment, adding that Kano State excel nationwide in terms of supporting their members.

In a statement by Aminu Bello Sani SACA Public Relations Officer Sai he equally enjoined their member to use the materials obtained during after the training to earn a living for t as most of the beneficiaries were either orphans, widows or divorcees.
