Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state condoles with the family, Gombe state government and people of Gombe state over the death of the first Military Governor of defunct North-western state Alhaji Usman Farouk, Jarman Gombe, describes the death as “great loss to Nigeria and beyond.”
“As one of those who stood high for the unity of the country and who was part of those who fathered Nigeria courageously. The news was shocking and unbearable,” he said.

Alhaji Farouk, according to governor Ganduje, was one of those who gave good direction to the then Northwestern state, which today comprises many states, “…and the country in general,” he appreciated.

He prayed for Allah’s Forgiveness on the reposed soul of the late governor and urged his family and all other leaders to follow the footstep “…of the revered leader, whose leadership style promoted transparency and accountability in governance,” he stated.
“In a statement released by the Governors Chief Press Secretary Malam Abba Anwar said Governor Ganduje Prayed to Almighty Allah to give his family and all of us fortitude to bear this great and deeply touching death of Alhaji Usman Farouk of blessed memory. May Allah forgive all his wrong doings and reward all his good deeds abundantly,” governor Ganduje prayed.
