Honestly, Dr. Ibrahim`s recent Achievement at the polls to represent Bakori Constituency in the Katsina State house of Assembly didn’t come to me as a surprise, because his wonderful vision, sterling qualities and excellent contributions to the people are so outstanding that they can’t come to pass without recognitions. This is why in my opinion, the people of our constituency believed in him and gave him the mandate to represent them.

Although I wasn’t in my hometown of Kurami at the time of the Election but as a practicing Journalist I have been following the trend so closely. I tried to keep myself informed about every development.

By the nature of my professional orientation and ethical background, I I’m not allow to choose site in matters of news reportage especially issues as sensitive as politics, but then, I’m a political Correspondent among others, therefore as human, I have choice, feelings and interest and more importantly I have to have some degree of loyalty to my origin, not even to talk about someone I shared same family background with; Dr. Ibrahim Aminu.

In my hometown of Kurami, Dr. Ibrahim is a prince but his simplicity never allowed him to identify himself with that, he devoted almost his entire life to being a farmer despite his excellent educational qualifications.

As much as I knew, Dr. Ibrahim Political struggle didn’t started yesterday or a day before; in my town he’s an icon of hope for many, his community conflicts resolution techniques not only in Kurami but also across neighbouring communities brought him so much respect.

Over the years, Dr. Ibrahim remain a community leader whom most people turned to in time of trouble and he never say, ‘I’m tired’ he will always find a way to ensure a lasting solution to most problem.

On the other side, while some people sees Dr. Ibrahim as an Isolationist, others sees him as a gentleman who only interfares on issues of greater good to his people.

At some point, I blamed him for being too isolationist just as some sees him as not haven much relationship with people but I later studied the man and really understood his way of life.

His public relations ideology depends on his simplicity and humbleness and when someone is too simple and humble it actually take wisdom and endurance to understand such person, but then, what matters is his ability to do the right thing regardless of what people thinks about him… And that’s Dr. Ibrahim for you.

To you honorable Sir, the mandate has now been given to you by the people of Bakori Constituency, Primarily, the people of Kurami and environs; it is therefore expected of you to represent them, voice out their needs and aspiration.

It is well known, the people of your constituency are victims of Katsina’s insecurity, Kidnapping, armed robbery, and other related crimes are still affecting your people. Your Communities depends on farming for survival but it’s gradually becoming impossible due to the fear of being kidnapped.

It is a well known facts, that whenever an individual or group of individuals are denied access to justice, the mind naturally becomes unbalanced, the greater the injustice, the greater the unbalance. In a Balanced communities like Kurami, indiduals such as Dr. Ibrahim are given a chances to listen and address people’s grievances and with this facility of expression, raging frustrations can quenched and averted.

Haven known Dr. Ibrahim to be at the forefront of ensuring justice to those who were denied access to it, I believed you will do well to come up with motions that will help the people of our constituency to get back to farms, markets and day to day activities without fear of being attacked.

Kurami has metamorphos from being a small village of herdsmen and farmers to a town of well educated guys and progressives whose ideologies are to provide perspective on how to development the people.

Kurami is blessed with young guys who knows exactly what’s best for the community and this is why we are where we are now, largely because of our tolerance, corporation, understanding and the spirit of community transformation.

I congratulate Dr. Ibrahim and the entire members of his family. But more importantly, I congratulate the brave young men and women of not only Kurami but also the neigbouring communities who came out enmass to vote and ensuring that their votes count.

I’m confident, Dr. Ibrahim Aminu Kurami will represent your interests at the Katsina state legislative Chamber. I’m confident, Dr. Kurami’s door will always be open for us and he will listen and act accordingly.

Kurami, this might be the beginning but it’s certainly not going to be the end… More better days are coming, more challenges awaits and the need for more corporation and support has now become even more necessary.
