CITAD launches Book,  Youth In Peace Building In Northern Nigeria

The centre for information technology and development CITAD has launched a Book Titled Youth In Peace Building in Northern Nigeria.

The book which was Co-edited by Dr Chris Kwajah and Dr. Ruqayyah Yusuf Aliyu deliberated about the Role of Youth in peace building in Northern Nigeria.

In an opening remark Hamza Ibrahim of centre for democracy and development said the book was co-authored by Centre for information technology and development and Mac-Arthur  foundation.

On his part Dr Chris Kwajah who Co-edited the book said the need for Youth to ensure peace in Nigeria is paramount.

Dr Kwajah added that CITAD and Mac-Arthur foundation have done a great Job  in coming up with a book that talked about ensuring peace in Nigeria.

He cited example with relevant contributors who took peace building to the door step of Sambisa forest among others.

According to Kwajah the greatest Stakeholders in ensuring peace in Nigeria are the Youth.

He cited example with Aisha  Bakari who  Gombi led hunters  to Sambisa forest to fight insurgents.

According to Dr Chris Youth should be critical and analytical in their thinking in order to harness their potential for peace building.

Chris Kwaja, Ph.D., is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Centre for Conflict Management and Peace Studies, Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria.

On her part Dr Ruqayyah Yusuf Aliyu who Co-edited the book said the launching of the Book Youth in peace building in Nigeria came at a time when Nigeria is in dire need of peaceful coexistence in Nigeria.

Dr Ruqayyah who specialises in Media law and ethics teaches at the Department of media and information studies, Faculty of communications Bayero University Kano. Nigeria.
