AKK Gas Pipeline Project: We ‘ve Appointed Magaji On Merit

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has said that his decision to appoint Engr. Mu’azu Magaji as the Executive Chairman, Ajakuta-Kaduna-Kano gas pipeline project Committee under the auspices of the National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) as merit driven, considering his calibre as widely acclaimed genious in the field.

Speaking shortly after the apointment, Ganduje said considering the significance of the task bestowed on the former Commissioner, there was the compelling need for the herculean task to be handed over to him, adding that his emoluments and package of service, is akin to what a serving Comissioner is getting from the  State government.

He pointed out that  the issue of one’s proficiency and expertise must be taken into cognizance before finally arriving at  such a crucial decision stressing that his appointment was purely based on merit, confidence, competence and the ability to live above board.

He however stated that the gas pipeline project is a gigantic project that must not be ignored considering the high  premium attached on it by the two sister States affirming that with a competent hand heading the Committee his administration has no inkling of doubt about the efficacy of the expected result.

He called on members of the Committee to extend their hands of cooperation to him to enable him handle the job with diligence, commitment and expertise for greater and sustainable result stressing however that Kano  the two States are poised to benefit from it economically.
