Founded in 1990 Kano Pillars is the most popular football team in Northern Nigeria with hundreds of thousands of supporters.
The team was founded by Ibrahim Galadima who is currently handling the affairs of sports activities on behalf of the Kano state government.

Pillars: “We Are In Senegal For Football War”
Pillars is one of the few teams that has never been relegated since joining the National League. They play in the top division in Nigerian football, the Professional League.
Masu Gida’s achievements include among others 3 times winners of the Nigerian Premier League and a record of back to back in 2011-12 – 2013-2014.
Pillars won the Nigerian Super cup in 2007-2008 and FA cup in 2019 which gives the team the opportunity to represent the country in one Continental league.
Unfortunately, the sai masu Gida lost 3-1 in Dakar Senegal and played a goalless draw in the return leg in Kano on Saturday.
The new technical advisor Emanuel Lionel Soccoia replaced Ibrahim Musa with an expectation of greater performance in the continental cup.
According to the team management, the new technical advisor led teams in South Africa, Cameroon and Tanzania therefore, he knows the league very well. Unfortunately, the team could not score a goal in the return leg, they have ended 1-3 in favor of the visiting team ASC Jakaar of Senegal.
Sports writers and club fans expressed their feelings and also afraid of future occurrence of underperforming in the National league
There is an urgent need for the club management to revive the team if not better than other coaches like Ladan Boso, Khadiri Iknana, and Ghanian Malik Jabir.
The team is blessed with excellent players like Ali Rabiu, Auwali Ali, Ebuka, Chris Madaki, Anyawu among others.
If only these players received the best from a good coach, the names of Ahmad Musa, Ahmad Garba Yaro, yaro, Sani Kaita and Udoji could always be remembered.
