8 people have died on the spot and several others injured in a ghastly motor vehicle accident that occurred at Dakare Village along Bauchi Road in Garko local Govt Area of Kano State.
Confirming the incident to our correspondent, , the Kano State Public Enlighment Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC Kano Command Kabiru Ibrahim Daura said the preliminary information revealed that the accident involved 2 Vehicles a Sharon and a Bus, noted that 20 people were involved in the crash.
He explained that the Road Traffic Investigation Team have been deployed to the scene to carry out proper investigation on causes of the accident.
He stated that all the victims were taken to Hospital for treatment.
However speaking to a resident Akibu Hamisu pointed out that the accident occurred when a motorcycle driver wanted to overtak the Sharon Vehicle coming from Garko Town to Kano and the driver lost control and led the vehicle dived the road and summersaulted inside a farm.
He said so far the death toll rose to 11 from initial 8 that was reported to have died immediately after the accident
