Bauchi Speaker Lauds Code Of Conduct Bureau For Ensuring Zero Tolerance For Corruption

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has applauded the Conduct Bureau for ensuring zero tolerance for corruption in the country.

 

The Speaker made the commendation while speaking at the opening ceremony of a two-day workshop on strict compliance with assets declaration and Code of Conduct for public officers and career civil servants in the state held at Command Guests House, Bauchi.

Abubakar Y Suleiman said fighting corruption should not be left in the hands of government agencies, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to tackle the menace.

 

He described corruption as one of the factors responsible for the numerous challenges facing the country and enjoined Nigerians to join hands in the fight against corruption for the future of the country.

 

“I commend the organizers of this important workshop,  this sensitization is very timely. As representatives of our people, members of the State House of Assembly will partner with you for us to comply with all the guidelines for public officers.”

 

The Speaker assured the readiness of the Assembly to work and support the state office of the Code of Conduct Bureau in order to achieve the set objectives.

 

In a statement by Abdul Ahmad Burra, the spokesperson to the speaker Abubakar Y Suleiman said Governor Bala Mohammed was represented at the occasion by the Secretary to the State Government,  Alhaji Mohammed Sabiu Baba.
