Hisbah Bars Radio Station From Addressing Friday As ‘Black’

Black Friday according to Wikipedia, is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November every year – it is considered to be an informal name for the Friday following Thanksgiving Day in the United States.

In a letter signed by the Principal Executive Officer II, Abubakar Muhammad Ali on behalf of the Commander General of the Hisbah Board Kano, said the notice takes immediate effect, Prime Time News reports.

“I am directed to write and notify you that the office is in receipt of complaint for the conduct of BLACK FRIDAY SALES on 27th November, 2020 instant.”

Hisbah however said that considering the fact that Kano is a Muslim dominated land, Fridays must not be called Black.

The letter addressed

“Accordingly, we wish to express our concern on the tagging of the Friday ad “Black Friday” and further inform you.
