In its efforts enhance successful implementation of Urban and Environmental renewal programme of the present administration, the state Government has constituted a special task force on removal of illegal structures, motor parks,street trading,and dumping of refuse in the state.
Inaugurating the Special Task Force ,The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji charged Members of the task force to do their best in the discharge of their responsibilities,pointing out that the state government would give all necessary support to the task force.
He then call on the people in the state to identify with the taskforce to ensure conducive atmosphere for socio economic and political development.
In his speech the special taskforce chairman Hon Baffa Babba Dan Agundi who is also the Managing Director of Kano State Road and Traffic Agency(KAROTA) pledged to work hard for the realisation of the set objectives and appeal to people in the state to accord the taskforce utmost co-operation towards carrying out its assignment.
Among the taskforce terms of reference includes: Removal of all illegal structures within the state, to stop the operations of all illegal motor parks,as well as to stop unnecessary dumping of refuse on streets and any other works that the taskforce may deemed fit to be beneficial to the urban and environmental renewal programme.
Others include coopting the head of any MDA which has relevance to the work of the special task force and any other duty assigned by the Executive Governor.
Members of the special task force are; Suleiman Ahmad Abdulwahab,Managing Director, Abdullahi Mu’azu Gwarzo,Managing Director, REMASAB, ACP Shika Representing Police Force, Auwal Kado representing Department of State Security, USC Usman Isma’il representing Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
