A Kano School Where 560 Pupils Study In One Class Room Block

Yan Tsagaye is a town located in Rano Local Government of Kano State North-Western Nigeria with a primary school that has one block of Class Room

Currently, Rano is now an  Emirate in Kano state.

The Village Head of the YAntsagai Hamza Chiroma told Nigerian Tracker Correspondent who visited the town that one of the problems they are having  is lack of space to build a new classroom and decongest the only classroom block

Hamza Chiroma said apart from the local government Headquarters they complained to, they are yet to get any response from the authorities for the construction of new classrooms for the residents of the town to enjoy teaching and learning.

On whether they take their complaints to the legislators representing the area, the resident said they have never taken their complaint to anybody except the local Government and the State Universal Basic Education Board who are aware of the existence of the Primary School.

Another Resident of YanTsagai Shuaibu Adamu said the inability to build new classrooms for the school was a lack of space, he said they cannot afford a piece of land to buy and build classrooms for their children.

He said they are looking for philanthropists to help them buy the land so that their sons and daughters can study and acquire education like any other person.

The only Class Room Block

Some of the Parents said all the pupils at YanTsagai Primary School,560 of them are taking lessons in one classroom.

The parents said due to congestion they have to separate the students and asked them to come under the Tree and take lessons.

But the horrible scenario is during the harmattan and rainy seasons.

The parents complained that the teachers at YanTsagai Primary school are finding it difficult to teach the students and to impart sound knowledge to them.

Some of the parents also lamented how the majority of the parents are not cooperating in making teaching and learning in the school a better one.

They said they want other parents to join in pressuring Education stakeholders in Kano to come to the aid of 560 pupils merged in one block of classrooms.

They said the only block they are using in the school was the one built by a Kano Business Mogul Alhaji Auwal Abdullahi Rano

From ECC classes up to Basic six are congested in one block which forced the YanTsagai school authorities to decongest the classes and teach the students on the floor.

When our correspondent visited the school most of the pupils have deserted it and now in the farms with their parents for the harvest of farm produce.

when one visits the Kano School he will sympathize with the way and manner pupils are being thought.
