Bauchi State House of Assembly has appropriated the sum of five hundred million naira for the construction of Nasaru-Gwam-Balma-Arinje road in Ningi Central Constituency.
The road is part of the various projects budgeted in the Bauchi State Supplementary Budget 2020 submitted to the legislative arm by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad for appropriation which the Assembly passed into law .
The construction of the road followed a motion moved by the Speaker of the Assembly last year calling on the State Government to construct the road which he said will improve access to market centres for the rural producers, better availability of farm inputs at affordable price, access to market in favour of cash crops and commercialization of agricultural activities and enhance employment opportunities, access to education, health centres and farmlands to the benefiting communities.
According to the Speaker the communities of Nasaru, Gwam, Balma and Arinje are suffering for decades due to lack of road network in the area.
In a statement by Abdul Burra ,the House spokesperson said after passing of the Supplementary Budget into law, the Chairman House Committee on Appropriation Hon. Abdulkadir Umar Dewu (Kirfi Constituency) said the Assembly has considered and approved the sum of forty two billion, eight hundred and twenty four million, three hundred and ninety thousands, seven hundred and five naira as supplementary budget 2020.
