The Story Of 45-year-Old Health Worker, Killed by Bandits in Katsina

Haruna Sani woke up hale and hearty in the early hours of 2nd November 2020, as he prepares well to attend a screening exercise organized by Sabuwa Local government Primary Health Care Department of Katsina state.

 

Haruna Sani who happens to be a staff of the State Primary Health Care, their screening exercise was slated for that second November 2020.

Haruna Sani nicknamed by friends as Haruna Canvas was accompanied by a friend and a fellow civil servant, both riding on a motorcycle heading for the exercise.

They went to the screening center like their fellow civil servants and filled the necessary documents required.

As destiny would have it, Haruna Sani was not the one who rides the motorcycle that took them to the primary Health care center but the friend.

 

As Haruna’s friend set the machine’s gear to return to their respective destination, on that fateful November 2nd along Damari-Dandume Road, unknown to them, Bandits have taken over the Road and have started operation when Haruna and his Friends were enjoying their ride.

 

Haruna who was carried on the back of the motorcycle ran out of luck as his appointed time has come, The bandits succeeded in bringing him down from the motorcycle as they made effort to kidnap him.

 

But his friend who rides the motorcycle was able to run away and heard from the distance some argument late Haruna Sani had with the bandits.

 

Reports said as they tried to Kidnap Haruna, he defied them and in the end, they gunned him down and left the corpse in its pool of blood.

 

 

Haruna who was 45 years old was working at Machika Health care Centre at Sabuwa local government Primary Health Care Department.

 

The deceased left one wife and four children.

 

For more than two years Nigerians have been crying about bandits that are operating in the Northwestern part of Nigeria particularly Katsina and Zamfara States but ending their activities has become a nightmare on the side of the government.
